Last night the 3rd introductory evening meeting of the Eurobodalla Writers saw 6 writers present their short stories. The first story was one we could all identify with – doctors orders to lose weight and the returning energy and good feelings leading to an over-adventurous activity and an accident. Oh Dear. That was followed by a lovely story about a naughty little dog dressing in the owners best pink dress and the disastrous results. This was followed by a wonderful poem about a ghostly Friar – we shivered. A tribute to mothers and the meaning of Mothers Day has all of us nodding in agreement. Finally, a story about getting away with murder.
It was a very enjoyable evening with feedback on the stories, discussions about the topics and general good cheer.
The next meeting of the evening group is on 4 June 2013 at 6.30pm at the Dr MacKay Centre, Page Street, Moruya. Anyone interested in writing, learning to write or just listening to some good yarns is welcome. Cost is $6.00 and the annual fees for the Fellowship of Australian Writers ($40.00).
