ABC Open Program Writing Workshop, August 7, 2013

This workshop, run by Vanessa Milton, from 11 am – 2.30 pm at the McKay Centre, Page St, Moruya, is an introduction to ABC Open and its monthly writing project, 500 Words. It will cover:

• sharing some tips for writing for online publication – how to capture an audience, how to tell a compelling short story, look at examples.
• brainstorming story ideas for true stories, written in the first person.
• writing exercises to get you started writing your story.
• where to find images to accompany your story.
• how to publish on the website.
The theme for August is On the Job. Love it or hate it we spend a lot of our lives working, but some days stick in our memory longer than others. Write a first-person story about a day of work that you can’t forget. (please note that you can write about volunteer or unpaid work).
