We met many members of the Batemans Bay U3A writing group and book clubs at the Batemans Bay Writers Festival and were encouraged to present a talk to them on our recently-published anthology, ‘Flights of Fancy’.

Armed with a PowerPoint put together by Cat Sheely and Dianne Wiggins, and with 7 of us in attendance, we explained the process we went through from inception to publication, interspersed with readings of prose and poetry from the anthology as a taster. Copies of the anthology, plus individual members’ publications, were available for sale afterwards.

The morning was rounded off with a short writing exercise which was well received; some of the audience keen to read out their efforts. It was a great opportunity to share what we do with other like-minded groups in the area.
