Scorched – Clyde Mountain

Scorched, silent sentinels stand.

Stoic, stunned, submitting their sap,

Surrendering their souls

To the searing shooting stars of fire.

Now stripped of life’s desire,

Collateral damage in cataclysmic ire.

Black, burnt, beheaded,

Beaten, blazed, betrayed,

Our once flourishing forests,

Fauna, and faithful firefighters

Now furiously flayed.

Waiting, wishing for the welcome Wet,

Our teardrops seeking, beseeching

The heavens to open, and relent,

With rejuvenating, refreshing rain

To restore the forests, the earth,

Our shattered hopes and lives again.

Literary Salon 2019

Exhibition: The Literary Salon at the Bas

the first Literary Salon

Where: Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre, Corner of Vulcan and Campbell streets, Moruya

Exhibition: Saturday 5 October to Sunday 27 October 2019

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm (closed Mondays)

Come to the Bas in Moruya to see this year’s Literary Salon Exhibition. https://www.esc.nsw.gov.au/home/news-and-events/events/event/2019/exhibition-literary-salon-at-the-bas

The Literary Salon concept pairs creative writers with artists. Writers develop an original text which is then reinterpreted by artists in their own unique work. The exhibition showcases the pieces resulting from this creative partnership.

This year marks some exciting firsts for this popular event, with the exhibition taking place at the Bas and the addition of musicians to the artist mix, culminating in a mixed media extravaganza!

Literary Salon 11th October Moruya

The Eurobodalla Literary Salon | Moruya
When: today Thursday 11 October 2018, 5:30pm – 7pm
Where: Council Chambers, Eurobodalla Shire Council, Vulcan Street, Moruya

In partnership with the Eurobodalla Fellowship of Australian Writers, we introduce a program of new literary works at the Eurobodalla Literary Salon. Each writer has created a literary work, which has inspired a local artist to create a new artwork especially for this event. The works will also be on exhibition at Batemans Bay, Moruya and Narooma Libraries.

We’ll serve an elegant spread of light refreshments at these twilight events where writers and visual artists come together to inspire and spark each other’s creativity. Hear a variety of writers perform their work and see the exhibition of inspired artworks as you enjoy a delightful spread of nibbles.
