The Eurobodalla Writers Group celebrates the power of storytelling, encouraging local writers to explore their creativity, share their voices, develop their craft, and connect with audiences through diverse forms of writing.
Eurobodalla Writers’ promotes:
- writers who encourage and inspire others to improve their storytelling skills
- a website to publish work (currently under review)
- Instagram and Podcast channels
- an annual Literary and Art Salon delivered in partnership with the Moruya Library
- literary experts who offer their expertise in judging the annual Eurobodalla Shire Mayor’s Writing Competition
- local author engagement through informal gatherings
- the Eurobodalla Authors’ Group that meets by invitation at night on the second Monday of each month at a private home. Participants learn, share, and critique each other’s work for publication and generally support one another’s diverse projects. The group’s emphasis is on publication.
There are no membership, registration, or joining fees.
Other opportunities:
- The Moruya Library hosts weekly ‘write-ups’ in the Gubar Baran room each Tuesday from 11:00am to 12:30pm. These are casual, drop-in sessions providing time for quiet, self-directed writing and are recommended for keen writers who are not working towards publication but seek dedicated, self-directed writing time during the day.
- The libraries regularly promote writing workshops – see their website for more details. https://www.esc.nsw.gov.au/community/libraries/whats-on
Eurobodalla Writers treat each other with respect—acknowledging the inherent value and dignity of others, showing kindness and consideration, and valuing their perspectives.
